Emma is a realist painter based in Co Antrim, Northern Ireland.

 

She graduated from the Belfast School of Art in 2001 with a BA (Hons) in Graphic Design and worked in the design industry for many years.

More recently Emma has continued her education studying Classical Realism with some of the leading drawing and painting instructors from the US.

​

Her preferred medium is oil paint. She uses a traditional indirect method of painting where many layers of transparent glazes are built up to create a rich luminous effect.

 

Her work is influenced by the dramatic lighting of artists such as Caravaggio and Rembrandt.

Emma uses the highest quality pigments and materials available to ensure the archival quality of each painting.
